Ilya Kovalchuk With NY Devils

Ilya Kovalchuk has tried to sign a 17 year contract with the New Jersey Devils hockey team. He's the left wing for the NJ Devils. Right now he's not signed with the Devils as the league didn't approve the contract saying that it violates salary caps.

What we think will happen is that a new deal will be signed, one that rewards Kovalchuk for his abilities, but is still acceptable to the league. The League is arguing that this 17 year deal is designed to circumvent salary cap rules whicha are in place.
